The yellow kicker smoothie is like a pudding breakfast. And with all the chia seeds and golden linseeds, it’s packed with fuel to keep you going. And turmeric is that extra little bit of kick you need.
It’s a busy smoothie, I have to say.
I like the intense color that turmeric have. It’s so incredibly rich yellow. Since turmeric dyes everything on the spot it’s so freaking strong, it is at most important to be careful when using it. I know that. I try to be careful, obviously, but with various effects. Why you ask? Because for some reason, I bought a pound bag of turmeric. A pound bag. Probably just to make my life difficult. Or because I like the challenge? Imagine the possibilities of destruction that can be done with a pound bag of turmeric. And it’s not like you use tons of turmeric for cooking. A little goes a long way. I think I have self-destructive, or rather kitchen destructive, properties…. So don’t be like me. Minimize the possibility of dying your kitchen and yourself yellow and buy small baggies of the stuff. It’s much safer this way. And wash your hands straight after using it. It may look like you got away and nothing got on your hands until you look in the mirror and find yourself with a yellow streak on your face. I’m talking from experience.
Clementines give incredible flavor and sweetness to the smoothie. And they blend very well. There are no bits in the yellow kicker smoothie which I was a bit worried about when I made it. But no, just pure smoothness of the smoothie. And I don’t even have a high-speed blender.
I mostly use clementines because they peel easier than orange but if you prefer oranges they will work as well.
