Pumpkin seeds are nutrient rich food good to include in your clean diet. They are great in cookies, granola, cookies, sprinkled on toast or salad.

Pumpkin seeds are a great source of protein, monu-unsaturated heart healthy fatty acids and vitamin E. They are a great source of tryptophan which our body uses to make 5-HTP. 5-HTP can regulate stress, depression and anxiety. So by eating pumpkin seeds you are improving your mood!

Pumpkin seeds, also known as pepitas, are great on their own as a snack, and are even better toasted.

The easiest way is to toast them on a dry pan on medium heat until they are golden and crispy. When pumpkin seeds are toasted they pop almost like popcorn so watch out for pumpkin seeds trying to escape the pan 🙂

We always toast a batch, usually with sunflower seeds, and use it in various dishes. It’s great to have a bowl of toasted goodness on hand.

Pumpkin seeds are a great addition to smoothies, granola, porridge, baking goods, pancakes or sprinkled on your salad, lunch, peanut butter or avocado toast.

Pumpkin seeds will keep for few months in a closed, air tight container. It’s a great pantry staple. It’s best to buy them in larger packages as it’s cheaper this way and you don’t have to think about buying them for a while.
