Coconut oil is a great clean diet oil for cooking.
Coconut oil is solid at room temperature but melts very easily and doesn’t need a lot of heat for that. When melting coconut oil be careful not to overheat it.
Coconut oil can be used in a solid form as well as melted in baking, to make energy bars, granola, to gently fry with.
Coconut oil has a smoke point at 350°F/175°C which means it’s not a good idea to use coconut oil for deep frying.
When buying coconut oil make sure you buy raw, virgin or extra virgin, and organic coconut oil.
Store coconut oil in a dry, cool place. There is no need for storing in a refrigerator.
