Porridge. Such a classic breakfast. Peanut butter and apple. These two are made for each other. And banana. So good. And imagine all that in a bowl. together. Just perfect.
Even writing about this porridge makes me a little hungry.
Good porridge is good on its own. Creamy and velvety. But what goes with the porridge totally makes it. And peanut butter, apple, and banana combo was totally designed to be eaten with porridge.
Since I don’t like extra pans to wash I make my porridge in the microwave. It was a total revelation on the same level as discovering overnight oats. Microwaved porridge. Now it takes 5 minutes to make porridge in the morning. I mean hot meal in five minutes. Ok, maybe 10 minutes on the mornings when I have to think very hard where on earth did I put that bag of oats. But that just me. I tend to misplace things in the morning. And drop things. Usually, things that make a very loud sound when they hit the floor. Did I mention yet I’m not a morning person? That’s why I plan, make things ahead if possible and am very grateful for any improvements in the process of making my food.
A delicious bowl of porridge do make the morning a lot more manageable and actually makes me want to face the day. Magical porridge? But anyway. The microwave. Total time saver. And it means porridge can be made at work! Take what you need with you and just microwave the porridge there. I’m not only saying, I’ve done that.
This recipe makes a creamy not too thick porridge. If you like your porridge a bit more velvety add milk after microwaving the porridge. No need to microwave again. Just add milk and mix well.
